Role Description

Location
Generally south Wales but may be required to travel outside the area by agreement. Following the induction/development period the role will be site based.

Graduate Entrant
Engaged on Graduate induction/development programme for first 6-12 months (Dependent on speed of development), prior to appointment as ‘Assistant Site Manager’.

Qualifications/Key skills needed:

  • Degree in Construction Management or other construction related course

Assistant Site Manager

  • Assisting the Site or Project Manager on site management duties including:-
  • Delivering the company’s legal, contractual and social obligations on the project
  • Implementing the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management systems.
  • Planning work to ensure its completion safely to meet time and quality requirements
  • Monitoring work undertaken to assess safety, quality and time compliance
  • Undertaking site engineering (Setting out/checks) under the supervision of a Senior Engineer
  • Undertaking site administration
  • Collaborative problem solving
  • Research construction materials, products and techniques prior to undertaking work
  • Report writing
  • Attending/contributing to site meetings/team workshops
  • Reviewing and acting on design/contract information
  • Developing/implementing the project’s integrated design (BIM) delivery
  • Managing change/variations
  • Supporting the Commercial (QS) staff by controlling cost and recording information on contract changes
  • Engaging professionally and respectfully with the Client, design team and public on all site matters
  • Engaging professionally and respectfully with directly employed operatives and subcontractors
